Relentless. This was the theme for the Kentucky-Tennessee Pathfinders’ annual “7up” retreat. Pathfinders in the seventh grade or up, hence 7up, went to Indian Creek Camp for an incredible weekend packed full of faith, fellowship, and fun.
The weekend started on Friday night with icebreaker games where the Pathfinders could get to know those outside their local clubs. Following the games was the worship program, which was led by Kentucky-Tennessee’s new youth director and his wife, Greg and Kimberly Taylor. Throughout the weekend’s worships, the Pathfinders learned about God’s relentless love for them, and how to have a deeper relationship with Him.
Friday night the Pathfinders were split into teams and instructed to paint a flag with their team’s name. The weekend was filled with many fun and challenging team-building activities, where the Pathfinders learned how to communicate, work together, and problem solve. Activities included challenges such as learning how to build ladders, maneuver through obstacles blindfolded, and many more.
Along with the activities, there was a trivia scavenger hunt that added excitement to the weekend. Scattered around the camp were 24 rubber ducks and frogs which had Pathfinder trivia questions and knots on the bottom. It actually ended in a tie between two Pathfinders who found and answered all 24.
On Saturday evening, an appeal was made for the Pathfinders to make a commitment to Christ. Twenty-four indicated they were interested in studying for baptism. Praise the Lord for His leading at this wonderful event, and within the incredible Pathfinder clubs in the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference.
