Oshkosh 2019 Chosen has been an amazing blessing so far. At first, I was not planning on coming to Oshkosh. I had been in college for 2 years and was not very attached to the club of my current church. However, I was seeking for opportunities to work here after many of my friends told me about how they were going to be in the play or working as staff. I was unable to find anything in time and so I felt defeated. As Oshkosh neared an opportunity was found at my home church who were needing young people to act as chaperone for the club. God opened a door for me to be CHOSEN to come to this Oshkosh 2019.
My club and I have experienced many fun activities and honors. We began with a plastic stitching honor that my sister took a great liking to and has been diligently working on ever since. We then did Dutch oven cooking which has been my absolute favorite honor so far. My family really enjoys cooking and it was so fun and interesting being able to learn an alternative method of cooking. We also went on the zip line and went to Puerto Rico campsite to experience the culture and do some special honors like that of the coqui and the culture of the Taino indigenous people! I really enjoyed being a part of the celebration of my culture and being able to share it with some friends and other members of our club.
The evening programs have also been an immense blessing. I know several cast members from school, including Jason Moore who plays David. It is incredible to see how God has chosen him for this role to be a blessing to so many pathfinders. I am so happy to see how God is moving in this year’s camporee!
