Morristown Hispanic Organized as Church

Agustín Soto and his wife, Marina, along with their children, lead out in services in the gymnasium that was used as the main place of worship. When the Hispanic group in Morristown, Tenn., became too large to meet at the Soto's house, they started renting space from the Adventist English church in Morristown.

In the year 2002, Agustin Soto and his family were called to bring the message of hope to the Spanish-speaking community of Morristown,Tenn.

After traveling back and forth to Knoxville Hispanic every Sabbath, Soto and his family opened a small group in their home, which led them to look for a larger place to worship. They were able to arrange to use the gymnasium of the local English-speaking Adventist church in Morristown.

Morristown soon had a Spanish-speaking group of Adventists, with the help of David Labrador, pastor, and the Zunún, Altamirano, and Morales families, along with other families. They were moved by the Holy Spirit to continue with the growth of this church.

Fast forward to 2007, after fervent mission and prayers, the small group was blessed with the opportunity of purchasing a church building for the group to keep expanding into an Adventist company.

Furthermore, the work continued over the years to present day. The Morristown Hispanic Company, with its many families, was officially organized by the Georgia-Cumberland Conference on October 1, 2022, as the Morristown Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church. They are committed to continue spreading the Gospel until God’s second coming.
