Plymouth-Sorrento Church in Apopka, Fla., under the leadership of Seree Peterson, health and temperance leader, hosted a Diabetes Undone program for church family and community beginning in September 2022. There were more than 30 people who registered with a desire to learn how to reverse and prevent diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and many other health conditions. During a nine-week period, there were positive changes in the health and wellness of many attendees. Some had improvements in their A1C numbers, blood pressures, weight loss, and even higher energy through more exercise. The participants were encouraged each week to set a new goal in exercising, eating more plant-based foods, or adding an extra hour of sleep.
Each night, participants enjoyed a healthy recipe sample while giving many positive comments of how good healthy food can taste. As the attendees came each night, they shared how they were exercising more, trying to eat more plant-based foods, and attempting to get at least seven hours of sleep each night. At the end of the nine-week program, Rob Putt, pastor, and Peterson encouraged each participant to continue with a new commitment to live a healthier lifestyle and take time to rest each week. A prayer of dedication was offered for the participants
