Praise Tabernacle Church in Whiteville, N.C., has joined a unique ministry, Adventist Motorcycle Ministry (AMM). Jessie Davidson, who rides a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, is the president and founder of the North Carolina chapter of Soldiers of the Cross Christian Bikers.
On a recent Sabbath, the members of the chapter rode their motorcycles to church. This was not a show-off meet- ing, but was “Bikers Blessing Sabbath.” The members gathered to ask the Lord for protection for the bikers as they ministered to the surrounding communities.
The ministry is affiliated with the worldwide biker’s organization, Adventist Motorcycle Ministry, whose motto is “Where every ride is a mission.” This ministry emphasis is on uplifting Jesus through the three angels’ messages, healthy lifestyle living, and ministering to an individual’s physical and mental needs.
On one occasion, the Soldiers of the Cross Christian Bikers Club teamed up with the Praise Tab Tigers Pathfinder Club and travelled to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to minister to the homeless. There they distributed essential care packages. The members have participated in various bike rallies, sharing the Gospel by using Steps to Christ and healthy lifestyle booklets.
