Mattie Todd, president of the Golden Age Department at East Market Church in Greensboro, N.C., had a vision for her group to learn computer skills. Sharon Cornelius, group advisor, approached Dell Cohen, since she was retired, and ask if she would volunteer to share her computer knowledge with the seniors. Realizing the growing need for technology, Cohen agreed. The women accepted the opportunity to attend a two-hour session each Wednesday for one year.
The program not only taught them how to use the computer, it also created an environment which allowed the women to fellowship as they encouraged one another to achieve their goals. They received certificates at completion of the course, and an advance course is planned.
