There’s nothing like a good old camp meeting to give you a spiritual boost, and reenergize you for life’s journey. On October 22, 2016, while there wasn’t any camping, and the only tent was for serving lunch, Eastern Carolina Camp Meeting still had the desired effect on those who attended. They were all blessed by the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Des Cummings was the speaker, and the Greenville, N.C., Church was brimming with worshippers eager to hear what God had asked him to say. The music was provided by not one, but two choirs: The Umoja Church choir in their colorful garb delighted the audience during the early part of the service, and from the Asheville area came the Celestial Praise Chorale. The Chorale provided songs both during the worship hour and for the afternoon concert.
Children’s programs were offered for the younger crowd, leaving their parents free to enjoy the presentations. An efficient, delicious lunch gave everyone physical sustenance to combine with the spiritual nourishment of the day.
Next year, the Conference will host Low Country Camp Meeting in Summerville, S.C.
