There is a ministry in food. Food provides an added reason for reflection and thanksgiving, especially this time of year. The Leach Church in Cedar Grove, Tenn., hosted its seventh annual Thanksgiving Agape Banquet in early November. The menu was vegetarian, and the fellowship hall was filled to capacity.
Forty-six attendees, composed of community friends and church family, listened to stories of miracles and God’s interventions of Thanksgivings past. Even a local television personality and his wife attended the event. Decorated with fall decor, twinkling lights, and candles, the meal culminated in a beautiful communion service and video vignette on the meaning of what comprises a true harvest. Each family was given a small gift as they exited the luncheon, so they would not soon forget this special occasion.
