The North Orlando, Fla., Church recently enjoyed two weeks of an exciting, Spirit-filled, evangelistic series. The effort began on Sabbath, July 1, 2023, and concluded on Sabbath, July 15. Aptly titled, “REDO — Embracing the Power of Restoration,” the powerful series uncovered the life-changing joy of having a renewed, restorative relationship with Christ. Online and in-person participants were presented with dynamic sermons by Carl B. Ming, pastor/evangelist. Attendees were also treated to the soul-stirring music of Carey Sayles, international singing evangelist. Nightly programs featured empowerment presentations focusing on physical and mental health, finance, and relationship management. The topics were covered by the Health Ministries, Stewardship, and Family Life departments.
In preparation for the event, Gregory Carrol, D.Min., North Orlando’s senior pastor, pointed out to the members that the REDO evangelistic series would be run on the power of prayer, so before and during each night’s program, North Orlando’s prayer warriors interceded for the success of the effort.
In order to energize the youth of the congregation, Bible quizzes were given at the start of each program using the Kahoot! online game forum. The games were played with enthusiasm as participants competed for top points and prizes. In the end, youth as well as adults enjoyed and benefited from the quizzes. Additionally, to ensure that every group of the church was served during the two weeks, Vacation Bible School was held for the youngest members of the congregation.
Each night, after being fed with spiritual food, North Orlando’s hospitality team fed attendees with physical food at the end of the service. A delicious fare of soup, sandwiches, and fruit was served.
One of the highlights of the effort was the baptism of 12 persons who decided to take their stand for Christ. Many others also re-dedicated their lives to the Lord during that time.
On the final evening, the revival culminated with an exciting concert featuring Carey Sayles and other groups. Everyone left feeling renewed and certainly blessed. It was indeed a REDO!
