The Children’s Ministries Department of the Rogersville, Tenn., Church, has been very active in getting children involved in learning about God and His love.
Every month on the fourth Sabbath, the children get to go into a classroom with a few teachers, do crafts, sing songs, and ultimately get closer to Him.
The children are learning how God created the animals for people to enjoy and take care of. To illustrate this lesson, the group recently went to a local wildlife park called Bays Mountain in Kingsport, Tenn. There they enjoyed a picnic lunch provided by some of the adults in the church, followed by a walk through the animal habitats.
They learned about the wolves in the park— what they eat, how often they are fed, where the wolves come from, and more.
The church has much more planned for their children, as well as the children in their community. Sharon Borton and Donna Owen have been leading the team of adults recently, along with the aid of other church members — Stephanie and Leroy Morie, Doug and Brandy Jenkins, Curtis and Ruby Hinrichs, Tim and Mae Luttrell, Lauren Freire, and others.
Programs and activities with the children are vital to their growth. Prayers are appreciated for the children (and adults) at Rogersville Church and the surrounding community as they lead the next generation to God. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these,” Matthew 19:14.
